Privacy policy
What we collect when you ring or send the form, why we hold it, who else ever sees it, and how to have it deleted.
Last updated 1 March 2026
The short version
We collect the details needed to get a van to the right address and send an invoice afterwards. We do not sell them, we do not trade them, and we do not send marketing to anybody who has not asked for it.
This policy sets out how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Only what a job needs. In practice that is:
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- The address of the property and, where it is not yours, whether you are the owner, tenant or agent.
- What the fault is doing, plus anything you tell us about the age and history of the installation.
- Photographs of the work, taken for the job file and for the safety certificate.
- Test results — RCD trip times, insulation readings and the like — recorded against the address.
- Payment details, handled by our payment provider. We never see or store a full card number.
Why we hold it
To quote the work, do the work, issue the certificate, invoice you, and answer questions about the job later on.
Some of it we are required to keep. An electrical contractor must retain records of notifiable work and safety certificates, and the Australian Taxation Office requires business records to be kept for five years. That obligation outlasts any request to delete, and we will say so plainly if the two ever collide.
Who else sees it
As few people as possible. Specifically:
- The two electricians doing the work, through our job-management app.
- Our accountant, for invoicing and tax.
- Western Power or the network operator, where the job requires a notification or a meter appointment.
- The Building and Energy division of the WA Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, where a certificate must be lodged.
- Our payment provider, for the transaction only.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your details. We do not add you to a mailing list because you had a switchboard replaced. We do not run advertising pixels or third-party trackers on this site — there is no retargeting here, so nothing follows you around afterwards.
This website
The quote form sends what you type to our inbox and nowhere else. The site sets no advertising cookies. Anonymous, aggregated traffic counts may be collected so we know which pages are being read; they carry no name, address or phone number and cannot be traced back to a person.
Keeping it safe
Job records sit in a password-protected, access-controlled system with multi-factor authentication on every account. Paper is scanned and shredded. Old job files are archived, and archives are reviewed and cleared once the retention period has run out.
If a breach ever occurred that was likely to cause serious harm, we would notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Seeing it, fixing it, deleting it
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep. Email us and you will get an answer within thirty days, usually much sooner.
If you are not happy with how we have handled a request, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
