Perth's northern suburbs
Half the house is dead and it is nearly always the same four things.
Faults, switchboards, safety switches, lighting, rewires and EV chargers from Alkimos down to Warwick. You get a two-hour window, a price before we start, and an electrician on the phone rather than a booking form.

Six things, done properly, inside forty minutes of the depot
Every one of these pages publishes a price band and the reason it lands where it does — which is more than you will get from most of the trade, and considerably more useful than 'competitive rates'.

What a safety switch actually does
A circuit breaker protects the cable. A safety switch protects the person. Push the button below to send current down a healthy circuit, then create a fault and watch what the safety switch does about it.
Circuit offNothing flowing. Press start to energise the circuit.
A residual current device compares what flows out against what comes back. A 30 milliamp difference for more than about 30 milliseconds and it opens the circuit. A ceramic fuse cannot do this and never could.
Not sure whether your board has one? Here is how to check in about ten seconds.

Four steps, and the third one is the one that matters
Most complaints about electricians are not about the work. They are about a number that moved between the quote and the invoice.
- 01Under a minute
You ring, an electrician answers
Not a call centre and not a booking form that emails someone in the morning. You describe what is happening and you get told, honestly, whether this is a tonight job or a Tuesday job. Plenty of calls end with us telling you to turn a breaker off and book you in for the week.
You speak to someone who can actually diagnose it, first time.
- 02Same day for faults
We book a window, not a day
You get a two-hour window rather than 'sometime Thursday', and a text with the van on its way and roughly when it lands. If a job before yours runs long you hear about it from us before you have to ring and ask.
A two-hour window, and a text before we leave the previous job.
- 03Before any work starts
Price agreed before a tool comes out
We diagnose, we show you what we have found, and we give you a number for the repair. You are free to say no and pay only the attendance. Nothing gets added to the invoice afterwards that you have not already agreed to in front of the job.
The number you hear is the number on the invoice.
- 04Before we drive off
Tested, certified, tidied
Everything we touch is tested, an Electrical Safety Certificate is issued where the work calls for one, and the site is left cleaner than the state we found it in. You get the paperwork by email the same day rather than having to chase it.
Certificate emailed the same day, and the mess leaves with us.
An electrician's work disappears behind a cover plate
So the proof is the clock instead. Every job below is written up as a ticket: when the phone rang, when the van arrived, when the power came back on.

5 out of 5
Rang at nine on a Sunday night expecting a message bank and got an actual electrician. He talked me through turning the right breaker off over the phone so we could sleep, then turned up first thing Monday. Ended up replacing the whole board, and the price he said on Monday morning was the price on the invoice.

We asked for the same lights back and they talked us out of it. Twenty-four instead of thirty-two, moved to where you actually stand, and the kitchen is a completely different room. They also found insulation sitting on top of the old fittings that had started to scorch, which nobody had ever looked at.

Two other sparkies quoted the charger off a photo of my meter box. Northline came out, spent an hour and a half working out what my board could actually carry, and gave me one number that did not move. Car turned up a week later and it just worked.

Twenty-six suburbs, and we will tell you when you are outside them
Response time is a function of distance. Everything below is inside forty minutes of the Joondalup depot in normal traffic, which is the only reason we can promise what we promise.
Joondalup and around
The depot is here, so this is the fastest run on the board. Most under-an-hour call-outs land in this group.
Joondalup · Currambine · Kinross · Connolly · Edgewater
The coastal strip
Salt air is hard on outdoor boards, sensor lights and pool equipment. We see a lot of corroded gear along here.
Hillarys · Sorrento · Ocean Reef · Mullaloo · Burns Beach
Northern growth suburbs
Newer homes, so fewer rewires and far more EV chargers, downlight upgrades and added circuits.
Mindarie · Clarkson · Butler · Alkimos · Tamala Park
Established inner north
Seventies and eighties brick and tile. Ceramic fuses, no RCDs and aluminium-clad cable turn up here regularly.
Duncraig · Padbury · Woodvale · Greenwood · Kingsley · Warwick
Wanneroo and east
Bigger blocks, sheds, workshops and pumps. Sub-mains to outbuildings are the usual job.
Wanneroo · Sinagra · Ashby · Carramar · Banksia Grove
The five things everyone asks first
What does a call-out cost?
There is no separate call-out fee. Attendance is $185 during standard hours, which is 7am to 7pm seven days, and that covers travel plus the first hour on site including most small repairs. After hours and public holidays it is $285, and you are told which one applies on the phone before we leave the depot.
How fast can you actually get here?
For a genuine fault inside our service area, typically under two hours during the day. We give you a two-hour window rather than a day, and you get a text when the van leaves the job before yours. If we cannot get there quickly we tell you that on the phone instead of taking the booking and hoping.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold Electrical Contractor licence EC 13927 and carry $20 million in public liability. Every job that requires one gets an Electrical Safety Certificate, emailed to you the same day rather than promised and forgotten.
Do I legally need safety switches in Western Australia?
You need a minimum of two residual current devices covering every power point and lighting circuit before a home is sold, rented out, or handed over on a new build. A lot of homes up here have one covering the power points only, which does not meet the requirement. We can tell you where yours stands in about ten minutes.
Do you work weekends?
Seven days, 7am to 7pm, at the same rate as a weekday. Outside those hours the phone still rings through for genuine faults — no power, a burning smell, water into a switchboard — and that is when the after-hours rate applies.
Tell us what it is doing
Not urgent? Send the details through and you will hear back inside one working day. Live fault, no power, burning smell — ring instead, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a tonight job.
